After seeing Todd & Kathy off, we spent the day doing laundry, cleaning the boat and provisioining. It rained hard all afternoon, which was welcome. It’s always frustrating to have chores to do when the weather is perfect. And, after being covered in salt from spray during the prior day’s sail, it gave Fregata a much needed shower!
Monday, we awoke to a clear blue sky at sunrise. After some business (video) meetings, we set off to what’s probably our favorite anchorage in the Penobscot Bay. Seal Bay is nestled in an inlet on the northeast side of Northhaven Island. Getting there requires some tricky navigating through twists and turns, but rewards sailors with an idyllic, protected anchorage. It also has a sandbar that is only exposed at low tide.
We inflated the kayak to explore the lagoon, enjoyed the sunset and a starry night sky.
